NEW College student receives accolade from Rotary Club

Year 13 NEW College, Pontefract student, James Butterfield has been chosen to be a leader at the Rotary Club of Pontefract (RYLA).

Through selection process and interview, the RYLA choose one individual to become one of their leaders. The awards were open to all colleges in the area and out of 8 students shortlisted, James was chosen.

James will take part in a week’s residential where intense leadership training and personal development will be on offer.

Kristy Dixon, Quality and Diversity and Student Wellbeing Officer at NEW College, said: “I am extremely proud of James for doing so well. His presentation to the Rotary Club was excellent and I would like to thank the Rotary Club for this amazing opportunity.”
