NEW College Music Student invited to sing in Germany and Las Vegas

Hannah Braham, a year 12 student at NEW College, Pontefract, will be singing with the Cheshire Chord Company in Germany and Las Vegas this year, as a UK Ambassador for the Ladies Association of British Barber Shop Singers.
Hannah, who studies Music, English, Maths and Law at the sixth form college, has already achieved success at national level in the a cappella singing world by becoming National Champion in 2012 with the Cheshire Chord Company, and now they are set to sing at the a cappella festival in Dortmund, Germany in March.
The talented student will then be visiting Las Vegas in July to attend the International Convention of Barbershop Singers. This opportunity will see Hannah meeting the world’s best quartets and vocal arrangers, and will give her the chance to experience master classes by some of the best vocal educators available.
Hannah said: “I’m really excited about going to Germany and representing the country, and I can’t wait to go to Las Vegas. It’s such a great opportunity to attend a master class on how to sing with four part harmonies. It will be really useful for me.
“Taking music at A Level has boosted my skills, especially with the theory side of music and learning about harmonies. It’s a really cool subject to learn and has helped me in my ambitions so far. Both of these trips will be good experience and I’m really excited.”
