We believe it is vitally important that parents are kept informed of college events on a regular basis.  Our brand new website has been designed with this in mind.  The website features current press releases, the College calendar, events, trips, newsletter, course information, examination results etc.  In addition to our website, our termly college newsletter which all students are given a copy of (to pass to parents) reports on the latest happenings in the College.  This can also be found on our college website.

Letters are also sent home from time to time to inform parents of particular events or developments.

FIREFLY
Firefly is a new online space in which teachers are recording students’ attendance, monthly assessment results and comments relating to concerns, interventions and achievements. The College’s intention is for Firefly to be accessible to teachers, students and parents and it will be a key tool in keeping everyone informed about how students are progressing.

From September 2011, teachers have full access to this system and students have limited access.
Provisionally, students will have full access to this system from October 2011.
The College will pilot parental access with a selection of tutor groups in November and we hope to roll out full parental access in December or January.

This gradual roll-out is to make sure the Firefly is functioning correctly and to give teachers time to adjust to this new system.

The College will inform parents about how to access Firefly when we make it fully accessible later this year.
